Remember that time when mother would promise you a gift if you attained certain marks? A bike for the young lad or a dress for beautiful you. I certainly do! How could I possibly forget when I worked day and night, sacrificed my sleep at times, even skipped my meals, just to read for those exams! A bumble bee's efforts were nothing compared to the sweat I put in for that dress. Oh the joy! That filled mine heart once I saw the fruits of my labour, and just as you guessed, for the next countless Sundays ,it became my outfit.
I look back now and I laugh. Boy that was a lot of hard work. But then, I also realized how smart mummy was. She saw too much in me, too much to be left go down the drain. No wonder by all means, she had to bring out the best in me. A bribe you would probably call it. According to me, this bribe seems legit. It brought with it amazing results.
All grown up I am now, not many incentives coming my way. One or two characters at most checking up on your progress. So what do I do?.. Have I reason enough to throw in that towel? To let go of every dream, goal and ambition simply because there is no one to give me a pat on my back? Or say, "Kudos! Job well done!"
I bring to the table a different suggestion. Self confidence is it's brand name. Whether no one but yourself believes in you, keep going. Choose to be your biggest fan, your own cheerleader. Encourage yourself all the way. If need be whisper to yourself every morning that you are good enough! Refuse to be limited by fear or discouragement. I can assure you they will come, but step out of that cage either way.
Soon enough, you will be too far ahead for them to catch up. Fly if you can, if that's too hard, run, walk is another alternative, crawl if you have to! One way or the other you will get there. Then you can smile and wave at all who thought less of you. Shout, "I AM WELL ABLE!" Because you really are!
A masterpiece...quite concise on your elucidations...keep more coming
